Lantern fair is a traditional event in Chinese main festival: the Chinese new year, the Chinese Lantern Festival, the Midautumn Festival, or other festivals.

The activities of Lantern Fair
Lantern fair is very similar as the folk event temple fair, thousands of people can join the large activity for some reasons like an important festival, an abundant harvest and so on. The venues for the events often decorate with lanterns and coloured ribbons, in the lantern fair the kinds of lantern is the most important element. Chinese people will bring their family view the beautiful lantern in the venues, baskining the love of their famil.
The different between lantern fair and temple fair
The different between them is that the lantern fair‘s purpose is usually for hoping their family reunion be happy throughout the year, and the temple fair is for a the religious significance. Another different point between them is the venues, the venues of the temple fair is usually near a Chinese temple, contrary to it, the lantern fair can take place in every any large flat area.
The develop of lantern fair
Lantern fair is only a grand worship festival at first, after the development of economic and the needs of people’s communication, it became a full of commercially valuable and folk culture’s grand activity.
Lantern fair in other country
Lantern fair became culture carrier in the recent year, many places near the China-town will held the lantern fair every years, for example the Canada Toronto Rogers Chinese Lantern Festival, Singapore Lantern Festival 2005

I have saw the pictures in the trekearth, I think you need 8 very traditional Chinese red round lanterns, but I don’t kown your country and where are you?
If you only need the traditional’s Chinese red round lanterns, you have no reason buy them outside your country, it is very easy to make and very easy can find these lanterns’ wholesaler who is in your country from the internet, and they are very cheap. If you buy them from other country, or special tailor-made it will be more expensive.
