If you do not have a chance to get there, you can follow my photos tour Chinese Lantern Museum.

Hello,
Very interesting site. Chinese oil lamps are very intriguing to say the least.
This winter I am displaying part of my Chinese collection at our local library here in Sandpoint, Idaho, USA. Included in this display will be several old Chinese oil lamp stands with their ceramic oil dishes. My understanding is that the old lamps used rush wicks (Juncus effusus, also referred to as “lamp rush”). I was hoping you might have some information on the use of rush wicks and if you know of any source where I might acquire or purchase examples of these wicks for my oil lamp display.
Thank you,
Gary
