Walking into Toronto’s Chinese Lantern Festival is part like visiting Epcot, part like a leap back into ancient China.
And it’s like nothing you can experience outside of China, this sight of 32 towering and glowing sculptures, some made of silk, others unusual items like traditional porcelain teacups by master craftsmen from Zigong, China, reflected in a lake.
The masters spend more than two months building lantern sets in the shape of the Taj Mahal, Big Ben, the Statue of Liberty, ancient sea creatures or even an immortal creature that represents fortune.
